Welcome to Oblivion Ink.
Your portal to the artwork of Ryan Bunter.
7/31/2010 - I am currently illustrating comics based on the jokes from the ACO3 presents Whose Line Is It? Anime! comedy performances. The jokes range from gaming and anime to pop culture and movies and the panels will vary anywhere from two to thirteen (so far... at least with one that I'm working on currently for later) per comic. I will start to update the Ima to Eien ni - Now and Forever site, but these will consist of sketch and character work for the series that I don't believe will give away the plot of the series.
If you enjoy reading my musings and thoughts on my comics and other various matters, regular updates will be below each comic on the ACO3 presents Whose Line Is It? Anime! website, as I'll be typing up one with each (about) weekly comic. You can check out the first one right now, as Mario finds an unexpected site while hoping to save the princess. The next comic will be up tomorrow. If you want to show support for the comic and the group, come and visit us at various anime conventions on the West Coast and purchase products from Neko Planet Clothing including ACO3 presents Whose Line Is It? Anime! merchandise! You can find a list of future and past performances on the comedy group's site. Hosts and performers will be more than happy to sign any of the ACO3 merch purchased!
4/28/2010 - A new design is up at Neko Planet! This is for the Refined Ladylhu shirt, which you can find by clicking here. Neko Planet will be at the Battle for the Coast roller derby competition this weekend. You can check out all the shirts and accessories in person if you're there at the Ventura County Fairgrounds this Saturday and Sunday.
I'm working up another design right now that will be far more anime-related than the previous ones. Hopefully that will be up soon!
4/17/2010 - The website is currently up and product is selling, so you can see all the designs I've been working on for the past six or so months up at Neko Planet! I've currently done 17 designs for shirts and one hoodie across 7 product lines! They vary from cute to gothic to steampunk-ish. One of the lines is part of the official merchandise for the popular ACO3 presents Whose Line Is It? Anime! group that performs at various anime conventions throughout the year. Part of the proceeds from that line go to fund the group for better equipment and travel/food expenses!
I'm working on about another 10 designs (with even more to come, I'm sure) for Neko Planet at the moment, so check out their site from time to time to see all the new product coming out!
1/23/2010 - What was originally supposed to be one shirt design and a company logo turned into seven designs. The first set of shirts came back and I've been given the opportunity to bring in a set of designs along with a line that are all my original ideas as opposed to commissioned requests! No, this doesn't mean IMA shirts yet, but once I'm able to get these designs out and hopefully make for that balance I've been desiring, I'll be getting those screenprinted at some point! Once the shirts go up for sale in a few weeks, I'll link to the site.
I've been meddling with design alterations for IMA on the side, and although it won't affect the design for the main characters in their work attire, it will change the civilizations around them and their camoflauge dramatically. So that some surprise remains, I'll only place IMA-related artwork up once the characters or civilization they're connected to have been revealed in the comic.
10/3/2009 - I've been held up a bit over the last month due to designing a logo and demo shirt for a clothing company I'm working with. Hopefully within the next week or two I'll have the finished product in my hands. I'm told there will be other work desired soon enough so hopefully I'll be able to find a balance there between my own work and my design comissions.
I've sketched out the next few pages for IMA and am working on the digital side of one of them, though I'll still have to experiment to see what results work best for a decent pacing when it comes to page completion and upload. I'm also working on the design for the IMA site, with hopefully a few additions to the template popping up today and later, and a redesign for this site, as I've recently sketched out some ideas I'm rather fond of!
8/29/2009 - Alright! I'll be changing the look of the site when I get a chance but www.IMAtoEIENni.com is now live with the first double spread page of the series! I started the page up in June and completed it (as it is currently) a bit ago, though I will be going back and altering fonts at a later point for the purpose of printing at an undisclosed point in time. Upon consultation with several others, I've come to the conclusion that most of the comic will have to be done in black and white in order to complete pages in a timely manner. There will be color pages interspersed at times, though.
There's a new picture up in the MiSC gallery. This is a cutout of the commissioned piece I finished some time ago.
4/25/2009 - OK! This has been a long time coming! I recently finished a commission that I've been working on for far too long on the side and though you won't find that up yet, I'll be putting it online with the next update. What you will find are two new entries in the MiSC gallery section, 'Springtime' and 'Rose.' 'Rose' was created as a cover to wedding invitation I completed earlier this year. As an illustrator, why would I want someone else handling the artwork for my wedding, after all? That was done in illustrator in it's entirety (other than the sig), so it has a different look than my other work.
Speaking of different looks, 'Springtime' incorporates some of the elements I've been toying with on both the digital painting and penwork fronts, varying from my older style decently. This is a direction I've been moving in recently while working on character/monster designs for my Obsidian and IMA work.
9/20/2008 - The newest piece is up in the MiSC gallery, entitled 'Sonnet.' It's a musical composition, encompassing both meanings of the word, and it's also the first time I tried my hand at painting a clarinet. I'm quite happy with the results!
7/26/2008 - I seem to be pretty good at this whole "falling off the face of the earth" thing... though maybe it should be 'internet' rather than 'earth.' Might as well make some form of amends by doing a bit of catch up then! Armin's performance was just loud enough to affect my hearing for that evening, though I have to admit that as my date mentioned at that time, the club was cramped and the show seemed oversold. I won't be going back to that particular location again and I really should get used to there being two to four hours of lessor known djs performing before the dj I actually went to see makes an appearance. I don't remember the names of the other djs performing, I just remember that I didn't care in the least for the first one, though the second one seemed to have a similar taste in music selection as Armin but he focused on non-vocal material for his set list. We left shortly after Armin stepped up to the decks, though not before he blasted "La Guitarra," which is a favorite of mine.
You'll find a new piece in the MiSC gallery. This one was given to my fiancee as a birthday gift. I finished it slightly before Anime Expo but not early enough that she could use it as the artwork on her badge, going with 'TheDance' at the time; that being one of her favorites before I completed the one for her. Things may quiet down enough in the not too distant future that I can get back to producing work on a regular basis, as I hope to finish a few more pieces to make up for the time I've spent away from my work (not that I've minded, but I won't get better just thinking about new compositions!).
5/10/2008 - I've been back from Japan for about two weeks now and I seem to be even more occupied than in the past; not that I mind. I'm working on typing out my experiences overseas along with what may ultimately turn out to be five commissioned pieces set for the not too distant future along with my standard work on IMA. And looking ahead to next weekend, I'll be attending my second Dj performance. My favorite Dj and the world's number one at the moment (according to DJmag), Armin van Buuren, will be performing on the 17th in Los Angeles. I'll make an effort to bring ear plugs this time if Ferry Corsten's performance taught me anything...
4/12/2008 - I've got a little bit over a week to plan my trip before I fly over to visit my sister in Japan. Never having to actually plan a trip before, I've got my work set out for me, since I've got only a week to wander throughout the sites and cities of Japan once I arrive. Friends and acquaintances alike have the opportunity to request horrifically stupid "There's no way that could come from anywhere except Japan" souvenirs! So far I have been asked for 'authentic' Japanese tea and soap and a cat alarm clock that sings... Well, if that last one doesn't qualify as a horribly stupid souvenir then I don't know what will! I've been told to pack light so I won't be taking any requests for large souvenirs, though.
Falling more into the category of spontaneity than my trip to Japan, I found out earlier this week that Ferry Corsten will be performing this evening in L.A. Grabbing Tickets last night, I figured it was about time that I saw one of my favorite artists live.
3/29/2008 - It always seems to take more time between updates than I really want but with an unprecedented slew of distractions bombarding me without remorse, my projects have been spaced out a bit more than the norm. A new piece is up in the IMA gallery, the first of the four point rock performance redesigns with Emmy, the group's drummer. I do find it oddly hilarious when life imitates art and 'Rock Band' gave me that opportunity by creating the entire band from IMA as band members in the game.
Part of the month was even taken up by teaching two individuals the basics of digital painting. Hopefully they'll both flourish in their painting styles as they spend time improving on their skills. Next up will be the band's singer, though I may make this next piece include one of the guitarists... time to work up some sketches!
2/23/2008 - I wrapped up the commissioned piece last weekend and was very pleased with the final results. You can find a cut of that along with a close up in the MiSC gallery. You'll also find a variant piece I produced for a project from work that was extremely entertaining to make. If you would have told me a month ago that I'd be doing an illustration that took inspiration from a Nascar vehicle... I'm not exactly sure how I would have reacted.
Since I finally got around to getting a new laptop, I decided to go through some of the emails I'd sent some time ago that included IMA references and compile them as I cleaned up everything on my old system for the move over to the newer machine. Speaking of IMA, I should have another two commissions coming up shortly but in between such projects, I've been working out the outfit designs for the four point perspective piece, trying to get even more detail into them than I've done so far... (shudder).
1/26/2008 - I've been working on a commissioned piece since about the time of my last update. With a pleasant surprise taking up some of my time, I'm hoping to complete the piece in a week. This one is quite a change from my normal work but so far it's been coming along nicely. After that, it looks like I'll have at least two more commissioned pieces to produce and by then I hope to have that 4 point perspective piece drawn out and ready for scanning!
12/23/2007 - Two more pieces down and an unfathomable amount left to go! You can find 'Time Immermorable' in the IMA gallery and 'Jack' in the MiSC gallery. Jack is the first baby I've ever painted and possibly ever even drawn so it turned out well but I'll do a better job with a bit more experience under my belt in future projects.
'Time Immermorable' is meant to be the counter piece to 'Chains' in almost every way. The soft white glow that permeates the piece pushes back the ever encompassing despair and darkness that was infused in 'Chains.' I went a step further to separate this one by giving this one a graphic touch as opposed to my usual painterly finish, relying on the lines rather than the chiaroscuro I fall back on so often. This helps to give it the softer look.
12/12/2007 - Well, the exhibition's over and I'm left with 18 pieces of framed work... something that's oddly new to me! I've been told I should decorate the house with them, which would certainly make for far more colorful walls than I have up now! I left a copy of Envelope Knife and TheHoff at work, though. I've recently been asked to use AIM by someone so after a year and... well... some extended amount of time beyond that, I'm back! If you would like to chat or have a commission request, you're more than welcome to look up TalanRites.
I've jumped on a piece I've had floating around my mind for some time now with the hopes of completing it this Saturday. So look forward to me going back to my usual output schedule in the near future because I have quite a bit of work I want to see accomplished before the end of the year!
12/7/2007 - A new piece is up in the MiSC gallery. I believe that this will be the final Saundra piece I do but it came out quite nice! The next piece I do will be a portrait I promised to someone so expect something in the style of Muse but with a truer to life approach. Speaking of which, I'm going to start developing my illustration and digital painting skills in the aforementioned direction (more in the vein of photo realistic artwork). I do realize that it's going to take some time to evolve a style I haven't had much experience in but I think that trying this will also help my IMA work and once I have a grasp of it, I'd be eager to try out IMA in that style just for kicks!
I may have a commissioned piece or two in the near future but I still plan on doing that horror-inducing four point perspective piece! I haven't become a victim to the overwhelming audacity of it causing me to cower in fear in the corner of the room yet (it's a small corner anyway, and with the lamp there, that would make for an unpleasant experience... well... more so)!
11/22/2007 - Ok... that took a bit more than a week to complete but I did finish it in time to place it in the exhibition I currently have up. My work can be found at the CSUCI gallery located at 92 Palm Drive, Camarillo, CA 93010. You can get further information and directions from the Channel Islands Exhibition page. The pieces will be up on display until December 7th.
You can find the newest piece in the IMA gallery. The full version, 'Showdown,' is currently the first piece in the gallery and a variant with just Talan and Mille can be found to the right of it. I've been working on two more pieces from the Saundra series (current three are in the MiSC gallery) and hope to have those both completed by the end of next week due to another three projects planned that I want to complete before the end of the year with the last one being possibly more work than 'Showdown'... haha...
10/27/2007 - The portrait is now up in the MiSC gallery! For my first digital piece that's not in a manga-esque style, I'm quite pleased with the results. It's been demanded by my official art selector that I begin work on the most complicated piece I've ever even conceived thus far after showing her a rough sketch of what I had planned for the final piece I wanted to do for the exhibit I have coming up (in what I hope will be mid-November with details to come). I expect this one to take about a week to finish due to five character appearing in it and possibly fifteen ventriloquist dummies. And yes, the piece will make sense in time!
10/23/2007 - The newest piece is up in the IMA gallery! This is the first design for Sacious and once I get the designs out for two more of the villains then I've got the main cast set up for IMA! There's still a horrendous amount of other characters to work on, though. The next piece will be a portrait I've wanted to do for some time. Hopefully I'll have that up come Saturday.
10/16/2007 - Two pieces are up today in the MiSC gallery! I know what I'll be doing for the next two already, I just need to get them on paper and start the process. One of them does involve two new character designs, though, but I hope to work that out between tonight and tomorrow!
10/13/2007 - What a week! Things have gotten far busier than the norm at work so I've had a bit less free time to work on my own projects recently. I nevertheless was able to complete the characters before Tuesday ended (11:58pm, to be exact) but in order to make the piece really shine, I got a little assistance from my (unofficial) official art selector who provided me with an excellent photo to base the background off of for that piece. I've got another linework scanned in and ready to be worked on, too. I'm not sure if I'll have anything completed today but I will post as soon as I do!
10/6/2007 - Well, it looks like I have an art exhibition coming up in about a month and to properly represent myself, I'm shooting to complete 6-7 new pieces before the show (which doesn't include the one I'm putting up now)! I'm aiming for project completion dates on Tuesdays and Saturdays by once again delving into my work to once again reach my highest output to weekly ratio over a month! Here's to hoping I don't go insane!
I would have to think that most of the pieces I will be completing over this month will be for the story I'm illustrating for, so like the one completed today, you'll find them all in the MiSC gallery (though there's a chance they may get their own gallery later).
9/29/2007 - The Obsidian redesign is up in... you guessed it... the Obsidian gallery! And do you know what that means? Button update for the gallery! I used some of the techniques I found when working on the alien pic from last week and for those shiny monotone pieces, it seems to really make it stand out. Depending on if I get enough input on a project I'm working on with someone else, I'll either have a composition up for a story I'm doing pictures for or more monster designs for the Obsidian gallery.
9/22/2007 - The IMA-nized alien pic has been completed and it's up in the MiSC gallery. I'm not exactly sure what I'm going to work on next at the moment. Maybe I'll jump into something similar to Beksinski! There's also a chance I could start adding to the Obsidian gallery. That definitely needs some work put into it. I'll update once I know.
9/20/2007 - I've been given the opportunity once again to find that I really don't like moving. After almost all of the boxes were unpacked and I was able to jump in the neighborhood spa, things got quite a bit better. The town home is better than I remembered from when we first took a look through a similar model. Things haven't exactly quieted down yet so I haven't gotten back into my art production routine yet, but I should jump right into that soon enough.
I got a chance before the move to go through a lot of Giger's work and after what I saw, I think I'll be doing an IMA stylized alien and see how things look. Speaking of artwork, I got a chance yesterday to speak with the head of the art department at CSUCI. Jack likes showing off his former students so I've been asked if what I've worked on recently would be enough to fill two rooms of an art exhibition. I asked how soon he'd like it, since with every week I plan on outputting another piece, but apparently he thinks I have enough to fill those rooms already.
I may be able to complete the next piece over the weekend but with the current developments, there's a chance it could take a bit longer!
9/8/2007 - The four character project has been completed and is up in the IMA gallery. I may go back and add to the background later but due to moving next weekend I don't think I'll have a chance to do an art update for another two weeks. I wanted to try something different for my next piece. Jason recommended doing an H.R. Giger-esque design for the next one after we watched Aliens last night. He commented on how some of my ribbed clothing designs reminded him of Giger's work.
9/4/2007 - I guess my laptop wasn't the only having problems due to the recent heat. That slowed down my current project's completion, to say the least. I've finished 2 of the 4 characters and I completed the base coloring for another. At the latest, this will be done by Saturday, though I hope to wrap this up before then.
8/31/2007 - I completed the sketches for the next piece I'm working on. I always say that every new piece should be better than the last one I did. Well, I think I'll be setting the bar a tad bit higher between my works than previously with this one. So much so, that maybe I should contribute a bit to the Obsidian Gallery after this one's done!
8/26/2007 - The new piece is up in the IMA gallery. I'll comment here on the piece! This is the update to 092 - Evil Ambitions, a 2005 piece that I wasn't happy with once I'd completed it. Mille is far more desensitized to sorrowful situations and maintains an outward appearance of nonchalance even when chained and shackled by a villain whose symbolism is deviously evident. In the earlier version she was out of character, showing a horrified expression of fear. I tried some new things with this one and the hair came out better than anything I've done previously. I used a sketch style linework for this one, like the Emerald piece but cleaner, which I feel was appropriate for the content.
I've decided to go for a character montage as my next piece (one where the characters are sprouting up behind others in a column). I would expect this one may take a bit longer than a normal piece, suffice to say. I'll shoot to have this completed by Sunday, but we'll see!
8/24/2007 - I just completed a linework for the next piece and it's not Kimono Emmy! It's from a darker part of IMA that I've wanted to illustrate for some time. I did a version of it, which didn't turn out as well as I'd hoped, as a final project for my bachelor's, but this one looks like it will turn out far better (who'd of thought?). With the completion of the last piece, that makes 10 for the last series (a new first) and it's time for the next set. I hope this set will cover grounds that I really haven't touched upon artistically before. I expect to have a finished version of this up by the end of Sunday!
8/22/2007 - Upon Jason's recommendation, I finally got around to setting up a DeviantArt account and placed a few 950x600 px pieces up under the name OblivionInk. It took a bit longer than I would have expected but that was mainly due to Jason distracting me with his Bioshock exploits.
http://oblivionink.deviantart.com is where you can find my profile.
8/20/2007 - I completed the Emerald piece that was mentioned in the 8/11 update. She's in the IMA gallery and looking better than ever (and maybe a bit meaner than ever in this piece)! I'll need to give some thought into who or what I want to design for the next update. Maybe the kimono Emerald would do but there's a lot of characters that still need designs and then there's Obsidian, too!
8/16/2007 - The new navigation flash is up but it involved expanding the width of the site just a bit in order to accommodate it. A few more graphic adjustments and the site modifications will be complete for the time being. Guess that means I should get back to completing another linework!
8/11/2007 - With the completion of the newest piece in the IMA gallery, it's about time I got to redesigning the main character, Emerald, once again. She's been due for an update for quite some time now! I've been working on getting the artwork together for the new flash navigation, too. Looks like it's also time to go through revisions for the IMA storyline while I'm at it.
7/29/2007 - For the rare individual who has been waiting for an update to the site, this should be one worth the five months since the last update. 7 new pictures have been added to the IMA gallery and one to the MiSC gallery. The way I do hair and eyes in IMA's style is certainly coming along with the new set having remarkable differences from my older work. Some of the newer ones include locational backgrounds, too!
I've been replacing the artwork throughout the site navigation with newer cutouts. I'll switch some of the others once I've completed appropriate pieces. The navigation on the left will be getting an overhaul, too. I've saved a special piece for that. There's a chance the site will be redone after that.
3/03/2007 - Sorry for the lack of updates in the last 4 months. Since my last posting, I got a job as a graphic designer for a company that handles hundreds of websites, moved in with my best friend, and been pounding away at DDR generally 4-5 days a week. I've updated the IMA gallery with the an incomplete version of the piece I'm working on (there will be two more characters in the background when it's finished), but still, it's a nice start.
I picked up DDR Universe for the 360 this week, surprisingly Best Buy got in copies before EB (a day before, to be exact) and I have rather mixed feelings about this one. Let me start off by saying that of the XBOX DDRs, Ultramix 4 is my favorite. This is the only DDR to have a Quest Mode that is both logical and enjoyable. DDR Universe doesn't build upon that model but instead uses a Quest Mode similar to Ultramix 3. I have already beaten Quest Mode and yet I'm still missing 6 or 7 songs that are associated with it... at least according to the Gamerpoint breakdown on Gamefaqs. I must also say that I'm disappointed with their character models for Emi specifically because they didn't use her SuperNova model but decided to go with a younger version of her. That being said, I can't wait for the Wii version of this game. Wii's version is the most logical progression of evolving the game and stepping on arrows genre. Still, the pad supplied with Universe is by far the best soft pad I've ever used and has yet to mess up on me (which is unprecedented when it comes to soft pads), though I do hope they make a universal metal pad for all the systems in the not so distant future so that I can enjoy more than just the PS and PS2 DDRs to the fullest.
12/05/2006 - Page 4 is up now and it's due time I started working on some IMA redesigns. I'll finish up the comic and start something along the lines of a traditional 3 to 6 frame webcomic after I've digitally finished a few IMA pieces.
11/11/2006 - It's been a rather eventful last two weeks, with a few thirteen and a half hour work days here and there, a bundle of new anime dvds to peruse, and a startlingly magnificent surge of games being released almost back to back (guess it is that time of year). First things first, it's time to drag my best friend back to make another flash animation button for a Comics page. I've adjusted the two other 'inferior' (non-flash) menu selections in the meantime with the new link. I've gone back through the first two pages and added the finishing touches I needed (the kanji for shinigami on the boxes and the lettering on Alucard's gun). The first two were completed in monotone base coloring because I wanted to try something a little different than my norm. The third, like everything I have planned thereafter, is in full color using the painting style I've developed.
A few things should be said about the demo comic I'm working on:
I've decided to be a %$^*(!ss and make the the panels read from right to left (a la manga). I figure that anyone who would be interested in hiring me for work, one of the purposes of this website, would be familiar with this. Don't worry, though. If I'm ever asked to speak at a panel, I promise that I will not attempt to commit seppuku due to the depressive nature of my work... no... wait... my upcoming work isn't a tale of sadness and emotional ignorance...
This work includes spoilers for Bleach's Bounto arc. I thoroughly enjoyed Bleach when it was following the original author's (gensakusha's) work, but due to the anime practically catching up to the manga, they decided to give the author more time to release enough chapters by creating original arc just for the anime. Like many anime in the past that have decided to walk this path (Gantz's final dvd is a good example of what happens when a studio starts writing their own content as opposed to using the original author's), such content does in no way live up to the quality based on the author's work. This is especially true when compared to the first 24 episodes, which I hope later episodes will be able to capture that same magic.
On another note, as I wrote earlier, there's been a recent surge of unexpectedly spectacular games within the last week and three in particular come to mind: Final Fantasy XII, Guitar Hero 2, and Gears of Wars. I must say, Final Fantasy XII may well be my all time favorite FF game by the time I've reached its end. With 40 hours under my belt, it's tied with 7 for me (my previous favorite), and it looks like it's only going to get better with each additional hour. I absolutely love the combat system, which I can best describe as a refined version of KotOR's. The boss fights and the Notorious Monster Hunts are a rush, choosing to play them without pausing the action. Good thing I played a Whm in ffxi.
I bought Guitar Hero, the original, about a month and a half ago, I believe. This was on my best friend's recommendation and I must say, it truly is as enjoyable as everyone has made it out to be and worthy of all the praise it had received. I jammed my way up to completing 29 songs in Hard and 24 in Expert, in that time. Mind you, most of those wins in Expert are not of the 5 star caliber. I'm not really into the Rock or Heavy Metal genre of music but I was familiar with a majority of the songs chosen for this game. The same can't be said of Guitar Hero 2 for me, as there are an abundant amount of songs that I'm in no way familiar with, let alone even heard. Still, hearing the screams of, "ENCORE! ENCORE!" only to be followed by Kansas' contribution to this title just... well... rocked.
Finally, Gears of War. I've had the opportunity to complete the first two acts on the first night I picked up this title. Now, normally I'm not a fan of shooters, but anything that features a co-op campaign I'm all for (Halo and Perfect Dark Zero come to mind at the moment). I thought the cover system used in Perfect Dark Zero was an excellent idea and allowed the game to separate itself from the rest of the shooters being released for the 360. Gears of War expands on that idea ten-fold, making it not simply a nice little addition but a necessity to keep your soldier alive. Rolling and spinning from cover to cover as I exchange fire with the horde has so far been an intense and exciting experience. I finished up my session with a berserker battle that had me yelling, "DODGE!" as she plowed through the pillar in front of us and right through the door barred behind us.
10/22/2006 - Getting closer to completing the mini-comic. I'm shooting for a week or less, so hopefully it falls somewhere within that timeframe. In the meantime, I put a pic up in the MiSC series gallery of Rukia.
10/5/2006 - Still toiling away at that 4 page comic, but I have uploaded part of page 2 and a linework of Alucard and Kos-Mos up in the MiSC series gallery. A few things to note here: yes, the final version of the gun will have the lettering on its side, that is a faxed page with one of the heads of Cerberus on it but I haven't completed all parts of that page yet, and Kos-Mos is dressed in her later outfit from Xenosaga III. There are tons of pics out there with her in the outfit from the first game, some from the second, but I didn't notice any from the third, a design that pays homage to her original in many ways.
Anyway, expect more to come in the near future and once I'm done with the mini comic, it's back to mainly Ima designs.
9/25/2006 - Time to be serious about writing these little updates. Since my last IMA series update in the gallery section (8/29), I've been working on what was originally intended to be a 1 page comic and has since expanded to 4 pages amongst other things like vehicle designs, architectural designs, etc. Using my own characters in only a single scene per page doesn't exactly show the breadth of my abilities, so it was time to give something of a real world example of what I can do. I'm still putting everything together at the moment but I'll soon begin uploading character studies and possibly some of the works in progress into the MiSC series gallery. The 4 pages include my first attempts at Alucard, Rukia, and Kos-Mos, so I do hope they turn out well. I'll even update this home page when I put work up in the gallery... a new concept for me... I know.
8/05/2006 - A very special thanks to Jason Faraci for all the time spent with me on creating this site and making yet another step towards my greatest goals a reality.
Please click on any of the selections in the three sets of links to check out all the site's content. Yes, I know that five separate sets in all shapes and sizes would allow for a plethora of link-related adventures through a possible labyrinth of pages where escape can only come from each mouse-click induced discovery... but hey, this is my first experience with a web site and that sounds unnecessarily complicated and thus quite the opposite of the straightforward 'check out my work and did you know that I'm an illustrator seeking art-related employment?' approach that I'm shooting for.
The 'Ima Series' Gallery contains all work related to 'Ima to Eien ni', the 'Obsidian Series' Gallery contains work associated with 'Obsidian Rain' and the 'MiSC. Series' Gallery includes work that falls outside of the realms in the first two galleries. I'll try to build up the content of the latter two in the not so distant future.
The Projects Section contains teaser introductions for both of my works in progress, 'Ima to Eien ni' and 'Obsidian Rain'.
The Info Section includes both artist and some series information.
